The Act 2 Program

Act 2® is in the business of supporting pre-retirees and retirees in planning and developing rewarding, fulfilling and fun activities for the next phase of their lives. Within a context of group workshops and individual coaching, you will be guided through a path of self discovery that enables you to plan your own next phase in the most appealing way possible. These activities may include but not be limited to exploration of a new career, support in finding part time work opportunities and/or planning a more fully designed and appealing plan for the next stage of your life.

Who needs Act 2?

Act 2 is for you if you are ready to plan the next phase of your life. You have good health, energy, vitality and financial resources. You have had a satisfying and fulfilling career to this point. What you also have is some degree of trepidation and apprehension about how you will be spending the next years of your life. And you have only vague plans.

How does Act 2 help you?

Act 2 is a customized program of self-discovery. The program is carefully planned to “start at the beginning” and proceed through a series of assessments, exercises and thought provoking questions all aimed at providing insight and direction. By the end of the 6 week Act 2 program, you will have a concrete plan for moving ahead toward something you truly want – not just leaving an environment you have become accustomed to.

Act 2 provides the framework and support that makes the thought of moving into the next phase much more attractive. You will know your strengths, drivers and values. And you will have more understanding of how your past successes provide the framework for building future rewarding and fulfilling work, volunteer activities or personal growth endeavors.

The goal of Act 2 is to remove some of the bigger questions around “what’s next”. It provides you with a “toolbox” of knowledge about yourself so you can develop a plan of action for the near term. And you gain confidence that you can make good, grounded decisions about future activities. The process provides the most appropriate alternative to traditional career transition services and recognizes that you are indeed in a different phase of your life – Act 2.

How does Act 2 work?

The Act 2 program is comprised of a series of six weekly workshops and/or individual sessions. During the week, you will be given assignments made up of coaching materials along with other proprietary exercises that move you along a path of personal development and self-discovery.
